Excellent pancakes and grits, fair prices, fast, friendly service. We went for breakfast one morning and went back the second day of our stay. Skip the chains and eat at a real local place.

The food is absolutely delicious!!!! And the service is fantastic. Truly the nicest staff we have ever met! The minute you walk in you feel happy! I had the traditional eggs benedict with hashbrowns. To the suggestion by our server, I had green peppers & onions added to the hashbrowns. This was truly the BEST eggs benedict & hasbrowns I have ever had! Even better than my own!!

This is a great locally owned, family restaurant. It is not real easy to find, but worth the effort. We went there for breakfast today, and it was wonderful. I had the eggs benedict, and my daughter had the biscuits and gravy, with a side of hash browns. The food was excellent, the service was quick, and friendly. It is a small restaurant, and fills up fast. I enjoyed my visit there. I am looking forward to trying some of their dinner entrees.

Fantastic food. Super quick service and they were quick with a coffee refill. I was seated. Ordered, and served in 10 min at the most. Absolutely coming back

Was unfortunately disappointed. I really wanted to like it, as their atmosphere was quaint and comfortable, but the food left me wanting more. Had the country fried steak, which was uncomfortably chewy. The potatoes were average, but the tea was good.

Breakfasts are pretty good, packed on the weekends. Interesting pairings of Crab cakes with hollandaise and poached eggs. Dinners, not so great. Last experience would make me not want to go back. Sour tomatoes, tea tasted like pot hadn't been cleaned in a couple of days, or it was left over. Not sure if I'd go back.

Very friendly folks. Eggs Bennie was great (they make them three different ways), as was the sausage gravy. Prices were reasonable.

  • Bob B.

What a great hidden gem! The grits were fabulous, the pancakes were light and fluffy, and my shrimp, spinach, and cheese omelet was amazing! The wife said her eggs and corned beef hash was great. We'll be back!

Like going to eat at a relatives house. The staff will accommodate any requests you may have, and the small size of the restaurant allows for more personal service. Great meals!

The good thing about NPR has all the mom pop stores in the area. This time it was this place called Caposey's Whole Works. It's a very small establishment... No, it's a cozy place, where you think you walked into some ones house filled with chairs and their mom was cooking. The menu was pretty extensive. Breakfast until 3pm. Foodie wanted country steak or eggs Benedict but zeroed in on skillet dishes. I opted for a Benedict with the sauce and tomatoes and bacon. The side of hash was fairly large. It was all delicious and came out pretty quickly even though this place was so packed for Sunday brunch there was a wait line. Foodie was impressed that the skillet portion was just the right amount to eat and fill up. I'd point out that there is an outside covered patio and it is pet friendly so puppy can go with you which is good. Definitely coming back again. The owner is on site; she is friendly.

Vacationing in the area and went here for breakfast. I'm glad we did. The owner and staff were extremely nice and welcoming. The food was very delicious with that home cooking taste. You can't beat the price for all that you get. I enjoyed the country fried steak with eggs, hash browns, and toast. My girlfriend and I left happy and our stomachs full. I definitely recommend them if you are in the area.

Absolutely amazing. The food was fresh and hot. They took care in how to was prepared and how it was presented. Our waitress was helpful and very friendly as well as the other staff that stopped and chatted with us ( including the owner). Pricing was very reasonable. We are on vacation and wanted to stay on budget and this was much better than the local chain restaurants. We definitely will be back before heading home!

Too bad that five stars is the limit, because I'd give them more if I could. Caposey's is a GREAT family owned little place that serves great food in a very comfy and friendly atmosphere. If you're looking for a great Sunday (or any day, really) breakfast spot, you've found it. But get there early because the locals are definitely on to it. This morning we just beat the rush -- there was a single booth available. I had the special, which was what they called a Surf n Turf Benedict, one poached egg on a crab cake and another poached egg on a small steak. A great idea, but also great execution; the crab cake was delicious and staffed full of crab, and the small breakfast steak was tender and flavorful. Homemade hollendaise that's as good as you will find anywhere. I didn't have the pancakes this morning, like I usually do, but I can tell you they are the best pancakes you will have anywhere. Flavorful and sort of eggy, but not overly so. They will be glad to serve you sugar-free syrup, and they always heat the syrup before bringing it to the table. For lunch, the soups are homemade and terrific, and there is always a lunch special (and a dinner special as well, for that matter.) This is diner food of the highest quality, and the service is friendly and attentive. Caposey's is run by a couple. Don't know that I've ever known their names, but the woman is the hostess and manager and the husband works the kitchen. I believe their son, who is probably around 20, works there now as a waiter. There used to be a restaurant in Palm Harbor called Kissin' Cuzzins, and this couple worked there way back when, she as a waitress and he as a cook. The woman told me recently that she had worked at Cuzzins for 11 years before it closed and they decided to move up US19 to Pasco County to take over Caposey's, which had been a family run place until the original owners retired. These people know how to run a restaurant. Caposey's is not hard to find, but you have to watch for it. Head north on US19 from Pinellas County; a couple of miles north of State Route 54, start watching on the right for Green Key Road. The Waffle House is on US19 and Green Key Road -- Caposey's is at the same intersection, just a little further down Green Key and on the Right.

Read they had eggs benedict... not disappointed! They have several different kinds, I had the original. Canadian bacon was thick, good flavor. The egg was just a wee bit too done for me, but overall i would eat it again! Quick friendly service. French Toast was really good too.

My husband and I are always searching for that next great breakfast place. Caposey's you done good. We are super picky about a few things: First and foremost CLEANLINESS! Bad enough I can see what is going on with my food but if the public area is clean, I am OK. Your facility was clean. I check corners, window sills, window treatments, I look all around. Pleased, very, very pleased. Second, food. Ya'll nailed it. The Crab Cake Benedict was amazing! Grits, oh for the love of all things holy.....YOU AMAZED ME! I ended up with two servings! Next, Service. You guys were a hoot to watch dealing with people. I am a people person and will talk to anyone! Ask my kids, ANYONE! I enjoyed interacting with all of you. Oh, my husband was thrilled with everything also. Enjoy your time away, have a great vacation and just like The Terminator, We will be back!

If Yelp had 6 stars, Caposey would have it. Nicest folks you could ever hope to meet. Wife has eggs benidict and I had breakfast skillet with stuffed french toast. Best breakfast of my life, no kidding. We'll be coming here weekly from here on out.

The pancakes are the perfect taste and consistency. Bacon was cooked to perfection. Great portions for the $$

  • Andrew G.

Great place! Great breakfast/brunch spot, since they serve breakfasts until 3. Try the Crab Cake eggs benedict- It's great. My ONLY complaint was that my poached egg was a bit overcooked. The crab cake was good, LOTS of crab meat. Get home fries, and make sure you ask them to deep fry them!

Great diner atmosphere. Service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious, and we had absolutely no complaints about portions or price.

More so 3 1/2 stars. Good food, not so good location. Fast service yet a little pricey. Would probably come back though!

  • Belle C.

I give them a 5 because I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY COULD GET ANY BETTER. Everything about the food was homemade. I don't know for sure, but I think they must cook with butter because everything tastes that good. The biscuits were fluffy, as were the pancakes. I had an omelette that was stuffed full of the ingredients I ordered. I have it on good authority that the eggs Benedict and grits are great. Oh my God - they will deep fry the home fries, a decedant choice, and they also have hash browns, biscuits and gravy, corned beef hash, well - an extensive breakfast menu. What makes this restaurant stand out? This is a southern breakfast place. Beside the menu choices (it ain't Denny's folks and thank the heavens for that), the staff is so friendly. I mean really friendly, not just "if I'm nice maybe my tip will be bigger" friendly. The inside seating was a bit stuffy for my taste, although almost every table was full, but they have an outside area that is nicely-fenced off and covered. AND, even though they were busy and we were seated outside, we were not forgotten by the wait staff. The service was prompt but not pushy. The outside area is dog friendly too. This is one of my new Sunday breakfast places! Whoo hoo!

Best customer service, EVER. Excellent eggs Benedict, stuffed French toast, friendly family owner diner. Clean atmosphere. You are made to feel very welcome. The staff is very knowledgable. My coffee cup was never empty. Very attentive staff! My only suggestion is to move you sign to a visible location. Such a hidden gem, it's a shame it's so hard to see from the streets. We've passed by it for years.

Really like this place. Great homemade food. Friendly family owned restaurant with made from scratch food! Only complaint is the place is a little small.

I've lived in the area for 15 years and have only recently discovered this gem. I met the owner and promised her I would check it out. I'm sure glad that I did. It's so nice to have a real, non-processed foods. The burger was very tasty and juicy. The breakfast is also top notch. The cafe is cow print theme. Very charming!!

I love this place soooo much. Feels like home. So welcoming. My daughter has called it the "fluffy pancake place" all her life Owners give her a big hug her whole life. Best pancakes and home cooking around. Since becoming single and not cooking very well, I love feeling I'm eating a warm home meal. Thanks Caposey's. You are definitely a part of our life!

  • Lacy H.

Really good eggs florentine, and the option for it was listed on the menu which I usually have to inquire about that. The hashbrowns were mediocre, but the service was fast and the meals were decently priced. They also have outdoor seating and I was told they are "dog friendly" so bring your dogs I guess. There's also evident smoking allowed on the patio, which may be a turn off for some so it's vital to mention that.

  • Lisa B.

Great little family diner with fresh, homemade food. Lunch and dinner were both reasonably priced and fair portions. The soup was definitely not from a can, and the veggie side and entrees were not frozen and reheated. The staff is always friendly and the service is great.

  • J W.

Can't go wrong eating here. I had dinner here one night and then went back for breakfast the next morning. The place is one of the cleanest restaurants I have seen in a long time. When you see a place as clean as this, with great home cooking food. What more can you ask for. Too bad I'm two hours away or I d have breakfast here at least twice a week. Last note, the staff was SUPER nice and friendly.

Glad I listened to fellow Yelper's as this is such a nice down home little restaurant! Chatted with the ownership was very nice!! I had the half broiled herb chicken with salad a mashed potatoes. Just like Mom cooks and it was under 10 dollars!!! I will be back :)

Nice little place for breakfast. Decor isn't really my thing but it kinda works for a small restaurant like this. Food is good and quick (though I did find a hair). Would have liked it more if I didn't hear the waitstaff talking just behind the counter about their lives/shifts and whatnot's. I have been back and will keep going back to this little gem in NPR.

Great food! Great atmosphere! Friendly staff! The only thing I'd like them to add is Gluten-Free pancakes and biscuits.

This is the best breakfast you will find in new port richey. We've had just about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. And if you want the best pancakes you've ever had.....go now!! The service also is the best you will find. Nothing but good things to say about this place.

Second day in a row here, and well worth the return. Very clean place, warm atmosphere, and knowledgeable staff. The waitress not only answered my questions, but described the food in a exciting way, that made even the french fries sound like they were amazing! The food was fresh and tasty, not reheated like most other places I have tried around here. Priced well below what I would expect for fresh, tasty food. I'll be back again soon.

Homemade. Quaint. But the one thing that you must get are THE GRITS! Wow! Best grits I have ever had in my life. So yummy we ordered another bowl. If you have a phobia to cows like you may clowns, take it to go! Serious COW fest going on in here. Enjoy!

Stopped in here with some friends before a day of fishing. Wow! This place has an awesome breakfast menu. The food is by far second to none. I would mention what to get but it was so good you can get just about anything. A group of 8 of us eat something different and even made our own meals. Just eat here. PS They even will let you bring your pet here to eat - no joke.

The whole staff is friendly and accomodating. Every breakfast meal around us looked good. Can't wait to go back and try something new.

I have to give this place a review it is small lively, a great place for breakfast anytime, the locals go there and......the quality of the food (meat) is right up there, very cheerful and owner managed.

  • Gary A.

Clean little Mom & Pop diner. The staff couldn't be friendlier. We had breakfast and the grits are special. Somewhere between grits and cream of wheat, ( For the record I greatly dislike cream of wheat). This concoction tastes like grits but is creamy and good. Sorry to go about something as simple as grits but they are special. My ice had French toast and it was dusted in cinnamon and powdered sugar. Every thing was good and it deserves another go. I will be back.
